Ilford is the main district of the [London Borough of Redbridge]?.
Famous for Ilford Photographic which is actually no longer there, and the Ilford Mammoth, found under the High Street and now in the Natural History Museum
Has a large shopping centre and pedestrian precinct. A new leisure centre opened up a couple of years ago with lots of restaurants and a decent cinema.
Ilford is, bizarrely, home to one of London's best-known brothels Giggles.
