I've only been around the area surrounding the station, but and the impression I had of Canning Town, in that vicinity at least, was endless windswept council estates (along [Silvertown Road]?) and large, roaring roads, such as the big roundabout where [Manor Road]?, [Barking Road]?, [East India Dock Road]?, [Newham Way]? and the aforementioned Silvertown Road meet.

To the west of Canning Town is the wide area filled by the winding [Bow Creek]?; to the south is the [Royal Victoria Dock]?; to the east is Custom House, and to the north is Plaistow.
