A town which is slightly confused as to where it actually is. It has a London phone number (0208) and is in a London Borough (Redbridge), but a postal address of Essex and a local area postcode (IG).
Famous for Ilford Photographic which is actually no longer there, and the Ilford Mammoth, found under the High Street and now in the Natural History Museum
Has a large shopping centre and pedestrian precinct. A new leisure centre opened up a couple of years ago with lots of restaurants and a decent cinema.
