The Open Guide to London: the free London guide - Differences between Version 3 and Version 2 of Da Mario, WC2H 9AJ

Contents are identical

Da Mario is a small (seating about 40 at the maximum), pleasant Italian restaurant in the Covent Garden area. The restaurant's small size grants dining there an intimate feel, and the staff are friendly.

When I (Earle) went there recently, I had the fettuccine with home-made pesto (about £6), which was good; other members of the party had variously the penne arabbiata (about the same price), the steak (about £10), and several other traditional Italian dishes whose name I forget, but the unanimous reaction from the group was that the food was satisfying and of good quality. Overall, the bill came to about £20 a head. The wine list is not very extensive but includes several good wines in the resonably priced range.

The restaurant is apparantly popular with groups going on to evening shows at the West End's theatres, so booking in advance is recommended.
