War Memorial at one end of Whitehall. Originally built in 1919 to commemerate the dead of the First World War. There is a rememberance service held here on the Sunday closest to November 11th, with the queen, leaders of all the major political parties (and other members of the establishment) laying wreaths to commemerate our dead servicemen.
