Street in East London connecting the City with Limehouse. Motor traffic is one-way along the whole length; the beauty lies in using it as a cycle route. Cycling is permitted in both directions, and much of the route is on a segregated cycle path on the pavement.
This makes this an excellent cycle route between the City and Canary Wharf. At the eastern end, an off-road cycle route through a park connects it to the Limehouse Basin and Narrow Street, which provides an easy route into the Isle of Dogs.
At the western end, the route carries on into Royal Mint Street.
The road runs alongside the DLR. Shadwell Station is halfway along; Tower Gateway DLR and Tower Hill Underground stations are near the City end and Limehouse on the DLR and National Rail (c2c).
Bus routes 100 and D3 serve the part of Cable Street nearest to Shadwell Station.
