The Open Guide to London: the free London guide - Differences between Version 2 and Version 1 of Brent Cross Shopping Centre

Contents are identical

London's first purpose-built shopping mall, next to the base of the M1. Not as car-dependent as later developments; there's a small bus station built on the front of the main structure, and Brent Cross Station is nearby (about 15 minutes' walk).

It's showing its age rather now, but is still moderately useful if one's in North London. Major shops are John Lewis and Fenwick, with larger-than-usual branches of Marks & Spencer, Waitrose, Boots and WH Smith. The rest of the space is filled with the usual grotty clothes shops.

A newer development on the other side of the North Circular - reachable by bridge - contains Toys R Us, a Tesco, and other larger shops.
