Historical version 7 of Battersea Park (view current version)

A large park in [Battersea]? on the south side of the Thames, with the [Albert Bridge to the north west, [Chelsea Bridge|Chelsea Bridge]] and the overshadowing Battersea Power Station to the north east and the [Peace Pagoda]? on the central north side.

It has areas of grass for informal sports and a ringroad where cycling and rollerblading are allowed. (Skating and cycling is not allowed in the middle but who cares?)

In 2003 the north side of the park circuit was resurfaced and has become a haven for cyclists and inline skaters. A weekly group skate - the Easy Peasy Skate - was launched in 2005; it starts at the Peace Pagoda at 10:30am every Saturday to do two laps of the park circuit, and lasts around one hour. With no hills, no roads and no cars this skate is aimed at families and those new to skating.

There is a boating pond in the park, tennis and football courts, a leisure centre, more than one Chinese style bandstand and a recently refurbished fountain area.
