It has areas of grass for informal sports and a ringroad where cycling and rollerblading is allowed. (skating and cycling is not allowed in the middle but who cares?)

There is a boating pond in the park, and more than one chinese style bandstand.

In 2003 the north side of the park circuit was resurfaced and has become a haven for cyclists and inline skaters. A weekly group skate - the [http://www.EasyPeasySkate.com Easy Peasy Skate] - was launched in 2005; it starts at the Peace Pagoda at 10:30am every Saturday to do two laps of the park circuit, and lasts around one hour. With no hills, no roads and no cars this skate is aimed at families and those new to skating.

There is a boating pond in the park, tennis and football courts, a leisure centre, more than one Chinese style bandstand and a recently refurbished fountain area.

For parts of 2002 large parts of the car park and other areas have been closed off for refurbishment.
