The Open Guide to London: the free London guide - Differences between Version 3 and Version 2 of Auberge, W1U 1ND

This place describes itself as a "Cafe-Bar-Restaurant". I've only been downstairs, which I think is more bar-like than the upstairs. Lonix seem to like going there. It's fairly dark but feels reasonably spacious. They have nice thick white candles on the tables for those of us who like playing with wax (no, not like that (at least not in public)).

Drinks

Twenty-four wines priced from 10.95; everything under 20 available by the glass.

Ten bottled beers including Chimay Red (3.95 for 330ml), Kriek and Framboise (can't remember which brand; 3.45 for 250ml). Stella, Hoegaarden and Leffe Blonde on draught. 2-pint jug of Hoegaarden is 7.75. One bottled cider, 2.95 for 330ml

Oh, and they do Orangina, yey! (1.75)

Food

I don't know if they do food in the downstairs bit. The menu I have lists starters from 4.25 for Vichyssoise to 5.95 for Timbale de Poissons. The food seems pretty fish-oriented -- they offer five mussel dishes at 5.45 for a starter or 10.95 for a main course, and eight other fish-based dishes at 11-13 -- but there are also four vegetarian dishes priced from 6.25 for Beignets de Legumes (potato and swede cakes served with roasted vegetables, hollandaise and tomato sauce) to 8.45 for Fricassee de Champignons.
