Uxbridge Arms, W8 7TQ

the Uxbridge Arms

The Uxbridge Arms is a delightful little pub hidden away in a back street, so it's often only full of locals, but apparently occasionally subject to full-scale suit invasions in the later evening. It's small and dark, and always has a wood fire going when it's cold. Recommended.

Drinks

London Pride and Strongbow were the only ones I really noticed.

Layout

There's a main room as you go in, which has the bar (and the fire) in it, and another small room off to the left. I didn't notice the small room at all the first time I came here. There is a sign on the wall saying you can book that room for parties. There isn't a bar serving point in the room, though, and there's no door between it and the rest of the pub, so all this essentially means is that you're reserving seats and tables.

The toilets are at the back of the pub. The cold tap in the ladies' doesn't work (Feb 2002), but at least they are real taps. Hand dryer instead of paper towels, though. It is relatively easy to lock yourself in the left-hand cubicle, oops.
