The Open Guide to London: the free London guide

This pub takes its name from a Poem by G. K. Chesterton and has a wonderful gothic/victorian vibe to it. It's just up the road from the cross section with Harrow Road and the top of Ladbroke Grove. It has a very atmospheric dining room, which serves 'modern mediterranean' food. It's round the corner from two other gastro pubs - Astons (which has recently gone Thai) and the William IV (which has recently gone Tapas). it has gone somewhat downhill over recent months and has some very erratic service and food, as well as developing a rather unwelcoming atmosphere...
