Whereas the Covent Garden museum caters for tourists, and is family orientated, the Acton Depot Museum is geared to more serious enthusiasts, transport geeks and trainspotters. Rather than polished articles, there is much in the depot that is restoration work in progress. There are also LT staff on hand who can satisfy your curiosity, such as “what actually does happen if I pull the alarm handle?” (So what does? — Kake: see this page)

It is also a place of research. Many archives, such as old tube maps and posters are ept here. They also have an impressive collection of old electrical equipment used in the underground.

The depot is not open to the public most of the time, but there are guided tours once a month, and some open weekends. See the website for details.
