Upminster is a garden suburb in the London Borough of Havering. The area developed rapidly in the early 1900s with the coming of the railway and is full of Victorian and Edwardian terraced, semi detached and detached housing.

Upminster is famous locally for [Upminster Windmill]?, one of the few remaining windmills in London and an icon for town although it is known more widely for being the eastern terminus of the District Line.

The high street has an average collection of shops and there is the odd ok pub. The area's real strength is its good selection of restaurants.

House prices in Upminster are high with 500,000+ averages on many streets. Transport to the City is slow on the District Line, however express c2c train services run every 10 minutes off peak (more frequently at peak times) to Fenchurch Street with a 22 minute journey time.
