- Brentford, London (map of this place)
South of Ealing.
A quiet backwater (due to lack of tube) in west London, but with good green space access (Thames path, Gunnersbury, Osterley and even Richmond Parks). Kew Gardens are a short walk away, over [Kew Bridge]? - regular users can buy an annual pass. Overground rail link into Waterloo. Rapidly filling up with new [imho] over-priced developments of hideous flats, as the waste ground and empty sites become financially viable. Other housing stock is mainly victorian terraces and council flats.
This district of London was the location for several of Robert Rankin's far-fetched novels.
