The Open Guide to London: the free London guide

This modern and striking cafe/restaurant/bar is located behind the Royal Festival Hall in the South Bank Centre. Comfortable and attractively designed, with excellent subtle lighting and nice music played at a restrained volume, this is a great spot. The bar is open until 11pm most nights, but one of the staff told me they generally close when the last person's gone, and they don't just chuck people out. It's the only place I know of at the moment where you can get a coffee that late at night.

I didn't try the food when I was there, but according to Dine Online starters are in the range of £4-£5, mains: £8-£10 and desserts around £4.
