For some obscure reason probably best left to the bureaucrats who invented it, cyclists need a special permit to ride on canals. However, BW have revised their thinking about London's Canals and you no longer need a permit to ride their towpaths.

However cyclists should read the new Towpath Code of Conduct.

The cycling permit is still available free from their web site and proves nothing in particular.

And yes, anglers are NOT supposed to block the towpath in any way.
