First of all, let *me* apologize for not answering you sooner about this.
I kept putting off a reply to your email since I wanted to give you some
good news (like a release date), but real/non-computing life has been
rather chaotic recently. (Fortunately, much of the chaos has had good
results, but it still takes a lot of time away from wiki work.)

I recently announced on the main UseModWiki that a beta testing "0.97"
should be released by the end of the year. I think I can make that date,
although I might have to release it on "December 35th" or so. :-) The
0.98 public release should follow a month later (hopefully January 2003
(CE :-)). These releases will basically have the current Meatball wiki
code, which includes a few of the user-submitted patches.

After that release I intend to take 4-6 weeks of "vacation" from wiki
stuff, and then start thinking seriously about 1.0. I currently think the
main 1.0 changes will be user-submitted patches and better documentation
(possibly as a sample/starter wiki included in the package). The 1.0
release seems most likely in the June-August 2003 timeframe.

After 1.0 I will be handing over future development to Sunir Shah.

I hope this answers your questions...
