We ask for copyright so that "We" can do what we like with a submitted article, but don't take exclusive copyright - so the author is free to do what he likes with the article. That seems to be the fairest way of dealing with many authored publications. It is what I ask for with DiverseBooks.com submissions too though I don't always shove legalise at people. If there is a good reason, perhaps the text should be changed to say "Five most recent changes".
